Company History

Started & operated a local DJ service while in high school

Continued to DJ while also doing electronic repairs on consumer car & home audio-visual systems

Sold the DJ service & continued electronic repairs – expanding to include services for local night club lighting & sound systems

Continued with electronic repairs, including high end home audio-visual, started working at J&A Stereo as a car audio‑visual installer

Left J&A Stereo & purchased Lightning Sound DJ Services, a local company that had been around since 1980.

Sold Lightning Sound DJ Service, started High Tech Productions to provide audio-visual & lighting services. We operated out of a 20’x20’ garage.

High Tech Productions became Blake Productions Ltd.

Darren Neufeld moved to Prince George & joined the our team, after working with AVW / Freeman audio-visual in Vancouver.

Our business grew & we expanded into an additional 30’x30’ shop to house our ever-growing inventory.

We were fortunate to have great event partners during the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George & provided services each night for 28 days for Caribou House & the Lheidli T’enneh Pavilion

We outgrew our 2 small shops & relocated our business closer to a warehouse bay downtown.

Warehouse bay beside ours became available & our space doubled, enabling us to better organize equipment, have a space for prepping equipment & a loading bay.

From its inception 2003, we have provided AV services for the BC Natural Resources Forum each year. In 2020, the event became the largest conference hosted in Prince George, with over 1,200+ participants.

Community Involvement

Having lived in Prince George since childhood, we believe in giving back to our community. We are happy to assist nonprofit organizations making a difference.

Many of these groups were the first organizations to approach us when our business was new, & we appreciated their trust. We enjoy & have enjoyed being a part of these annual events while being able to assist through some form of a donation of our services:

  • Evening of Chocolate (Local Red Cross Fundraiser)
  • Taste of India (Rotary Fundraiser)
  • Evening of Pink
  • Bucket List (Prince George Hospice Society)
  • Relay for Life (Canadian Cancer Society, BC & Yukon Division)
  • Miracle Theatre (Various charities each year)
  • BC SPCA North Cariboo District Branch
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters Big Squeeze
  • Heavy Metal Rocks (Northern Regional Construction Association, College of New Caledonia (CNC), School District 57, & WorkSafe BC)
  • Kris Kringle Luncheon (Child Development Centre)
